T:LAN Remote Commander

A Toolbox for Managing Your T:LANs

The Optima T:LAN Remote Commander is a program designed to facilitate the remote management and maintenance of the entire Optima T:LAN product family.

Featuring an easy-to-use, uncluttered user interface, it provides you with all the necessary tools to unlock the hundreds of options and commands available in each T:LAN model.

Maintain All T:LAN Units From One Central Location

Remote supervision and status monitoring, deployment control, on-the-fly configuration changes, priority overrides, as well as the 'one button firmware updates' are just some of the tasks that the T:LAN RC can be utilized for.

All of these can be carried out from one convenient, central location. Eliminate the need to dispatch technicians to the edges of your network. Perform routine system upgrades or carry out status checks whenever they are needed, not when technical personnel might be available or would be able to gain access to a remote site.

Making OS Updates a Snap

The T:LAN Remote Commander makes the process of upgrading T:LANs installed in the field fast and easy. It provides you with concise information about each unit's current status, location name, OS level and a timestamp of the last OS update. By putting this information at your disposal, the T:LAN Remote Commander enables you to precisely schedule remote upgrades where required. Upgrading a single unit or an entire batch of units is fast and usually completes in less than 15 seconds per T:LAN. This minimizes the impact of any upgrades and allows you to always keep your entire network updated and working as efficiently as possible.

Managing Third-Party Legacy Equipment

Connect your third-party legacy equipment to the serial ports of any field deployed T:LAN and use the T:LAN Remote Commander to gain remote access even to devices that were never designed to be managed across IP networks. Just one more example of how Optima's motto about Integrated Networking can save you time and money when it comes to maintaining your networks.

Spot Troubles Early

Smaller scale deployments that operate without expensive network monitoring systems can be easily controlled and managed using the T:LAN Remote Commander too. Just enable the alarms notification feature for each T:LAN unit you want to monitor. A green 'ALL CLEAR' or red 'ERROR' LED will tell you at a glance which units are currently experiencing any network troubles. Right clicking on any of the monitored T:LAN units lets you call up the corresponding alarm/event log in an instant.

Ships Free with Every Unit

Each T:LAN unit ships with a free copy of the T:LAN Remote Commander tool. This guarantees that no matter where you have to install a T:LAN, you will always have a basic version of the T:LAN Remote Commander handy. The free version contains all the tools and features necessary to keep your T:LANs up-to-date and provides an easy way for managing individual or small scale T:LAN deployments.

T:LAN Remote Commander Enterprise Edition

The Enterprise Edition has been designed to help you manage even larger scale deployments. It features all the commands and tools available in the basic version plus:

  • Auto-Discovery

Forgot to enable the IP address in a remotely installed T:LAN? Don't remember the IP address of a certain unit? Misplaced your installation log and you are looking for that elusive unit? Use the Auto-Discovery feature of the Enterprise Edition to remotely enable units that were previously out of your reach. This tool also provides a convenient way to inventory your entire deployment base.

  • Configuration File Management

Storing and managing your T:LAN operational profiles in one central location provides you with a backup of all configuration settings, increasing the reliability of your networks. The Enterprise Edition allows you to read and store the configuration settings of each T:LAN or quickly re-configure units with pre-tested configuration files, making the turning-up of new units a fast and effortless process.
